Court Building FAQs
I don't have a lot of space. Can I customize my court to fit my yard? Of course! We can help you maximize your space by creating a layout that helps us get on the same page and understand what will actually fit. We can also modify your court to make it work (i.e. a 3pt line that shorter or cut-off. Or a pickleball lines that are narrower or shorter.)
How soon do you begin after we decide to build a court? On an average year, we are are 6-8 weeks out from the time a decision is made, until the time we begin your project. Our products come from different sources and vendor, all with different lead times...but it is safe to say that 6 weeks is a good estimation for the arrival of your products for a complete court project.
Do I need a permit? Oftentimes, yes. If you live in a smaller township, you may not. We suggest you call you local zoning department and ask them for their stance on pouring a concrete pad in your backyard for a court.
How much does this cost? I don't have any reference point. Cost is determined by the conditions of your site, the size of your court, the surface you choose and the components you add (i.e. hoops, lights, fencing, lines.) When we have an initial conversation and understand some basic variables, we will share a budget range with you. Lastly, it is safe to say that it is very difficult to build a court for under $15,000. And they have reached totals up to $150,000. The size, site and design will determine your price range...and we're happy to help you determine those variables with a couple of pressure-free conversations.
How long will it take after you start? Every project is a little different, but if we are doing construction (excavation and concrete work) we need 3-5 days to complete that work. The installation of your sports components (surface, hoops, nets, lights) is usually completed in 2-3 days.
Can I do this myself? Maybe...but why take the risk? We are building courts everyday, and we have over 20 years of experience. We'll make sure yours is just how you want it!
I already have a concrete/asphalt pad. Can you upgrade my surface and equipment? Of course! Most of the time in just a day or two. Call us or email us some pictures and we can get the ball rolling.
